Dublin lady disappears

Published: 3 October 1913

It has been reported that Louisa Bogen, from Hampton, Ballbriggan, Dublin, disappeared this morning from the steamer, Rowan, which was travelling from Dublin to Glasgow. She was travelling with her sister when she complained of feeling sick. Her sister went on deck with her to get some air, but then Miss Bogen asked that her sister go back to their cabin and get her a glass of water. When the sister returned there was no sign of Bogen. The ship was halted, and a thorough search undertaken, but no sign of her was found. The ship’s captain had no choice but to continue on to Glasgow. It is presumed that Bogen fell overboard and she is presumed drowned.
