An afternoon party in Dublin Castle today opened the official party season. Her Excellency, Lady Aberdeen, was unable to attend due to a cold but His Excellency, the Lord Lieutenant received the guests, which numbered between four and five hundred.

The party was held in St Patrick’s Hall where the band of the Duke of Wellington played selections of music throughout the afternoon. Attendants at the party included Captain the Honourable D.A. Forbes and Captain Hope A’s D.C.

The main highlight of the afternoon was the fashion on show by the ladies in attendance.
