Looking for a cure for baldness? Try fighting a Puma

Published: 28 August 1913

The Leitrim Observer has reported that a bald man from Kansas City, who became involved in a fight with a wild puma, found the next morning that his hair had begun to grow back. The paper does not explain why the man was fighting the puma, but sees the incident as one that offers great hope to the balding men of Ireland. The paper’s advice: ‘So ye men of scanty locks, be off to the nearest zoo, send in your card to the puma and invite him to a bout of fisticuffs. Fight as if you had to uphold the traditions of the National Sporting Club. Should the keeper not allow the interview, the match may be arranged with him, if he is an obliging fellow. Then go home and wait – just wait’.
