Baby talk condemned

Published: 30 July 1913

Professor A.A. Berle of Denver has condemned the practice of many parents in engaging in baby talk when they interact with their infants. The Professor argues that such baby talk is not innocent, but that every piece of foolish jargon placed into a baby’s head at a young age has to be unlearned once the child enters school. The Professor advocates that the ‘rot’ of baby talk should be kept away from young infants and that rather than engaging in such infantile practices parents should concentrate on preparing their child for a world of education and knowledge.
