50 tonnes of coal moved under armed military guard

Published: 30 September 1913

Fifty tonnes of coal have been moved from the city centre to the Curragh under armed military guard. There have been problems of late with coal being taken from carts bound for the Curragh, so it was decided to move a large shipment to the camp with a military escort. All trams and vehicle traffic was suspended while the carts were escorted through the city.
