The Dublin Port Company has announced the appointment of Eamonn O'Reilly as its new chief executive after the retirement of Enda Connellan.
Mr O'Reilly will take up his appointment in early August 2010. He joins the Dublin Port Company from Portroe Stevedores where he was CEO of the Dublin Port-based cargo handling business since 2005.
The Dublin Port Company is responsible for the management, control, operation and development of the port. It provides facilities, services, accommodation and lands in the harbour for ships, goods and passengers.
It handles over two-thirds of containerised trade to and from Ireland and 50% of all Ireland's imports and exports. It also handles over 1.5 million tourists through the ferry companies operating at the port and through cruise vessels calling to the port.
