Andor's annual profits jump 67%

Belfast-based digital camera company Andor Technology has reported strong growth in sales and profits in the year to September 30.

Pre-tax profits before once-off items jumped by 67% to £3.5m as turnover climbed by 34% to £33.1m. Earnings per share were up almost 80% to 11.57p.

The company said its order book for the coming year had grown by 30%, while it also said it was experiencing continuing growth in China.

'We remain cautious about the economic outlook, the exposure we have as a global business to currency volatility, and the ever-increasing competition for business,' said chief executive Conor Walsh. But he said Andor was also optimistic because of the strength of its brand and its technology.
