IDA reaches agreement with Dell
Wednesday, 30 September 2009 17:42A spokesperson for the IDA has confirmed this evening that it has reached an agreement with Dell in relation to grant liability that the company has.
He said that the amount involved was confidential at this time and that both sides were satisfied with the deal.
He added that legal teams from both sides are now studying the agreement in advance of it being signed off on.
The IDA had carried out an investigation into any grant liabilities that Dell may have had since the company announced last January that it was outsourcing 1,900 jobs from its Limerick facility to Poland.
The IDA disclosed earlier this year that Dell received nearly €55 million in job-support grants for its Limerick operation since it was set up there in 1990.
Dell had previously insisted that that they had no liability in relation to the grants it had been paid.
