Portlaoise Travel goes into liquidation
Thursday, 30 July 2009 14:53Budget Travel has confirmed that one of its franchisees, the Portlaoise Travel Group, which has eight shops, has gone into liquidation.
The outlets are located in Athy, Kilkenny, Portlaoise, Carlow, Thurles and Tullamore.
In a statement today, Budget Travel which has a further seven franchisees around the country and 31 of its own outlets, said customers who have booked a holiday with the Portlaoise Travel group are fully protected and their reservations will be honoured.
A spokesman also said that the demise of the Portlaoise Travel Group has no affect on the day to day operations of Budget Travel or the remaining Budget Travel shops which are operating as normal. The Portlaoise Travel Group has been in operation for 20 years.
