eBay.ie names Donegal man as new boss

Online auction website eBay has appointed Gareth Davis as managing director of its Irish operations.

Mr Davis has responsibility for the development of eBay.ie, including operations, marketing and building the brand.

Originally from Letterkenny in Co Donegal, Mr Davis went to Trinity College in Dublin and George Mason University in Virginia. He joins the company from McKinsey & Co in New Jersey.

He replaces John McElligott, who moves to a global position within eBay.
