Fyffes property spin-off company Blackrock International Land has bought the campus of Jewel and Esk Valley College in Edinburgh for a total of £24.2m.
The deal was a joint venture with Applecross Properties. Blackrock has agreed a number of joint ventures with Applecross recently, including the purchase of 300 acres of land on the south side of Edinburgh, BBC Scotland's 5.3 acre broadcasting premises in Glasgow's west end and the 8.82 acre former Edinburgh Fruitmarket.
The college property comprises 15.74 acres and outline planning permission has been granted for a residential development of 140 high quality executive houses on the site, Blackrock says.
'The Scottish residential market remains strong and these lands are ideally located to serve the demand for high quality housing within a short commuting distance of Edinburgh city centre,' commented Blackrock's managing director, Robert Knox.
