Buy4Now signs up third US grocery chain
Tuesday, 17 January 2006Irish online shopping centre Buy4Now has announced a further expansion of its business in the US with the launch of Waldbaums online grocery offering on New York's Long Island.
The company has also raised its revenue and profit forecasts for the year to the end of March to €5m and €615,000 respectively.
Waldblaums is the third chain of grocery stores that Buy4Now has launched with online shopping in the past 15 months. The US e-grocery market in the US is valued in excess of $2.5 billion.
Waldbaums has 53 stores on Long Island in Nassau and Suffolk Counties and is operated by the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company. In October 2005, this $6.5 billion retailer agreed a deal with Buy4Now to make it its exclusive partner for the provision of e-grocery solutions.
Buy4Now was also appointed as a partner to food retailer Roche Brothers in Boston late last year.
Buy4Now said today that its expects to launch the Buy4Now e-groceryUSA.com website shortly. This will track activity in this marketplace.
