100 new drug jobs for Gaeltacht
Friday, 4 June 2004100 new pharmaceutical jobs are to be created at Bioniche Teoranta in Indreabhán, Co Galway.
Bioniche Teoranta is a subsidiary of Bioniche Pharma Group, a pharmaceutical company involved in the development, manufacturing and marketing of sterile injectable products and other drugs.
Bioniche already employs 70 staff at its facility in Inverin with the total staff levels expected to reach 170 over the next two to three years.
Udarás na Gaeltachta is providing an aid package of €1.9m the company, which is expanding its manufacturing facility on the Udarás Industrial Estate at Coill Rua, Inverin.
Construction of the expansion has begun and is expected to be completed by the middle of 2005.
Bioniche's products are mainly sold in the US directly or through strategic alliances with other pharmaceutical companies.
