As a student she studied voice training with Dr Veronica Dunne in the Royal Irish Academy. Veronica wanted to help her become a famous opera singer but Vanessa had met her future husband and decided to move back to Waterford, and concentrate on having a family. She describes her vocal style as operatic crossover. She loves everything from Michael Jackson to U2 to all the popular operas.
