Running from Friday 26 October, this is the first academic symposium examining Bowie's career and cultural impact and has drawn international speakers from around the world. The extraordinary artist Jacqueline du Pré made some legendary recordings, particularly of the Elgar Cello Concerto. At the age of 28 she had to stop playing because of multiple sclerosis but taught until her death in 1987. This special programme combines interviews with full recordings of works by Bach, Haydn, Brahms, Bruch and Elgar.
