Tough times ahead for Corrie's Peter
There are tough times ahead for 'Coronation Street's Peter Barlow and Leanne Battersby.
The reformed alcoholic soap character - played by Chris Gascoyne - and his on/off girlfriend Leanne Battersby will face hard times as he starts drinking just as they are about to open their new wine bar business venture.
Website stv.tv quotes Jane Danson, who plays Leanne as saying: "She feels utterly devastated when she realises how badly Peter has relapsed.
"It's deflating, as she's put so much hard work into the bar, and this is how Peter repays her."
One reason for Peter's failure to stay away from the drink is the renewed presence of his old Navy pal, Ciaran McCarthy.
After a boozy meltdown - which results in Peter losing the temporary custody of son, Simon - his relationship hits the rocks for possibly the final time.
Jane added: "In her heart she adores him, but we'll have to see whether she's prepared to invest in their relationship."
