Rob Lowe leaving Brothers & Sisters

Actor Rob Lowe is set to leave his role as Senator Robert McCallister on 'Brothers & Sisters', it has been confirmed.

According to the Los Angeles Times, a spokesperson for ABC confirmed his departure but did not give any details about when he would be leaving the show.

Network president Steve McPherson said in a statement: "We would like to keep Rob at ABC."

"We feel he should be anchoring his own franchise. We are in talks now."
