Cowell picks winning X Factor song - Report

Simon Cowell has reportedly picked Journey's 1981 hit 'Don't Stop Believin' as this year's 'X Factor' winner's song.

According to The Sun, if "legal issues" are resolved the track performed by Joe McElderry in the fourth week of the live finals is Cowell's first preference.

The show boss's second choice is said to be 'The Climb' from the 'Hannah Montana: The Movie', which is reportedly favoured should Stacey Solomon be in line to win the competition.

A source said: "It is getting to the crucial stages now and Simon and producers are very confident that Joe could be the winner. He made a great fist of 'Don't Stop Believin' and that has helped.

"It's always a difficult call choosing the song, especially as there are some very different talents in the final lineup."

Another added: "Danyl and Olly really think they can win. They will be shocked to learn the winner's song is one Joe has already performed."

On last weekend's 'X Factor', Cowell suggested that the winner's song had been picked and agreed on by all the contestants.
