Thurman to star in Pattinson drama

Uma Thurman has been cast opposite 'Twilight' star Robert Pattinson in the screen adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's short story 'Bel Ami'.

The Hollywood Reporter says the period drama tells the story of George Duroy (Pattinson), a journalist who sleeps his way to the top in Paris.

Thurman will play the wife of Duroy's friend, with Kristin Scott Thomas playing a socialite who falls for him.

The film is due to begin shooting next year.
