Gallagher is catching up on Corrie

Former Oasis star Noel Gallagher has revealed that he is spending his break from music catching up on 'Coronation Street'.

He told the Daily Star: "I'm not doing a solo album as I'm taking time off - I'm enjoying bumming around watching 'Coronation Street'."

He continued: "I much prefer it to 'EastEnders'. That show is too depressing for me."

Gallagher also claimed that he had been asked to appear on the ITV soap on numerous occasions.

The Press Association quotes a spokeswoman for the show as saying: "We know he's a huge fan of the show, and I'm sure it would be interesting at some point to see him on the Street but no official approach has been made."
