Christie Hennessy statue is unveiled

The late singer Christie Hennessy has been honoured with the unveiling of a statue in his native Tralee.

Singer and friend Christy Moore unveiled the artwork at the a ceremony, which was attended by Hennessy's wife Gill and children Amber, Hermoine and Tim.

The Mayor of Tralee Cllr Terry O'Brien said: "It is a fitting tribute to a gifted son of Tralee who loved his town and brought it international acclaim."

The album 'Christie Hennessy: A Friend of Mine' is due for release on 30 October.
