Pink asked for ID at own gig

Pop star Pink was surprised to be asked for ID to get into her own dressing room before a gig in Britain.

The American singer was performing at the National Indoor Arena (NIC) in Birmingham on Friday and Saturday when a security guard apparently failed to recognise her.

She wrote on her Twitter feed on Friday morning: "The security guy just carded me for my laminate to get into my dressing room. Now THAT'S some funny s***."

No-one at the NIC was available for comment.

The gig was part of Pink's Funhouse tour, in which she performs hits such as Get the Party Started and Who Knew.

She appeared to be happy with last night's show, tweeting afterwards: 'yaye Birmingham!!!!! you guys and gals were awesome tonight!!! you made my halloween :) thanks. nice costumes, too.'

Sound has a lot of potential

Delphic - Acolyte

Rating 3

A band in thrall to the guitar breaks, up-front bass and keyboard swirls of sections of the Factory Records back catalogue.

This album could own your summer

Vampire Weekend - Contra

Rating 4

More bedroom dancing and a heightened sense of elation.

A stronger collection

Conor Furlong - Playing with Fire

Rating 3

Music fans whose attitude to songs is that there's no such thing as too sad could find that Furlong's second album tugs all the parts that need tugging.
