Cruz joins Sex and the City sequel

Penélope Cruz has a cameo role in 'Sex and the City 2', and her character could cause problems for Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker).

A source told People magazine that Cruz is playing a banker in the film.

The actress shot a scene earlier this week at New York's Empire Hotel with Mr Big (Chris Noth) in which, People says, her character "gets a little too close".

Liza Minnelli has also filmed a cameo for the blockbuster, which is due in cinemas next summer.
