Singer Lavigne files for a divorce

Singer Avril Lavigne has filed for divorce from her estranged husband, Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley.

People magazine reports that Los Angeles court documents show that Lavigne cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for seeking a divorce.

Twenty-four-year-old Lavigne and 29-year-old Whibley were married for three years and announced their separation last month.
