Former Corrie stars expecting a baby

Former 'Coronation Street' stars Rupert Hill and Jenny Platt have announced that they are expecting a baby together.

Hill, who played Jamie Baldwin on the ITV soap, used his Twitter page to share the happy news with fans, The Sun reports.

The 31-year-old posted a hospital scan of the unborn child on the social networking website. He then commented: "Looks like I'm to be a dad."

After receiving messages of congratulations, Hill added: "Thanks for well wishes buddies."

The actor met 29-year-old Platt (Violet Wilson) on the set of the Weatherfield-based drama in 2004. Their characters were last seen on the Street in March 2008 as they decided to elope with Sean Tully's baby in the climax to a surrogacy plot.
