Miley Cyrus announces two Dublin shows

Fans of Miley Cyrus will be asking for early Christmas presents this year after the teenage star announced two shows at Dublin's O2 on 16 and 17 December.

Miley first burst on the scene in the hugely popular Disney series 'Hannah Montana' in which she plays an ordinary kid with an amazing secret - when she's not at school or hanging out with her friends she is a pop superstar.

The show's success led to the release of her debut album, 'Meet Miley Cyrus' in 2007. Her second album, 'Breakout', was released the following year and both debuted at No 1 on the Billboard 200.

She earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song for 'I Thought I Lost You' from 'Bolt', in which she also voiced the character Penny.

Currently riding high in the cinema charts with 'Hannah Montana: The Movie', Cyrus will be supported on her O2 performances by Metro Station featuring her older brother Trace Cyrus on vocals and guitar.

Tickets go on sale next Friday, 12 June at 9am from all Ticketmaster outlets Nationwide. Tickets are strictly limited to four per booking.

Gorillaz - Plastic Beach

Rating 4

As is the nature with albums as diverse as this in style and contributors, 'Plastic Beach' can be patchy in parts, but the sheer versatility and depth of this sprawling work are its saviours.

Beautifully recorded without taking the grit out of the songs

James Vincent McMorrow - Early in the Morning

Rating 4

Whether warming or giving the chills, McMorrow sounds like someone to stick with for the long haul.

A cool summer soundtrack

Two Door Cinema Club - Tourist History

Once word of mouth gets around membership will swell and the Bangor lads will have to think about moving things to a much bigger venue.
