Jack Tweed handed 12 week jail term

Former 'Celebrity Big Brother' star Jack Tweed has been sentenced to 12 weeks in jail for assaulting a taxi driver.

The 21-year-old star, who is Jade Goody's widower, was given the sentence at Harlow Magistrates' Court today.

During Tweed's trial, the court heard that he had attacked and threatened to stab taxi driver Stephen Wilkins last May after a night out.

Bench chairwoman Margaret Webb said today: "We have borne in mind the recent change in your personal circumstances and have reflected this in the length of the sentence, which would otherwise have been 18 weeks."

Tweed was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £455 and £200 to the taxi driver Stephen Wilkins.
