Kylie Minogue's thrifty shopping spree

Even Kylie Monigue has not been able to get away from the ill effects of the ongoing recession, as she was seen shopping at charity shop in Australia.

The singer splashed out less than $40 on two dresses, a skirt and a hat from the Melbourne Salvation Army store.

The Herald Sun newspaper reported that Minogue was seen shopping with a female friend and trying to be inconspicuous.

"She was hiding under a hat and had the trademark big sunglasses on, but she still looked great," said store manager Natasha Scott.

'She looked happy as she browsed around before buying a couple of summery dresses, a trendy little hat with a peak and a skirt. All up, she spent under $40."

However the fashion icon is known for wearing vintage clothing, she famously found the gold hotpants she wore in her Spinning Around video in a charity shop.

The pop star has been holidaying in Australia with her current boyfriend, Spanish model Andres Velencoso, and spending time at her parents' home in Canterbury.
