U2 Spider-Man musical Broadway bound
The new 'Spider-Man' musical, which features music and lyrics by U2's Bono and The Edge, now has an opening date on Broadway.
Billboard reports that 'Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark' will open on Broadway on 18 February 2010 with previews starting on 16 January.
The production, which will be directed by Julie Taymor ('Frida', 'Titus'), has a reported budget of $31m.
The trade daily has said that while no castings have taken place, Taymor has been reading the script with Jim Sturgess and Evan Rachel Wood, who starred in her film 'Across the Universe'.
While Sturgess is not expected to join the show, Wood has said publicly that the role of Mary-Jane Watson is hers.
U2's new album, 'No Line on the Horizon', is released in Ireland tomorrow.
