Usher's wife suffers cardiac arrest

Tameka Foster, the wife of singer Usher, is recovering from a cardiac arrest which she suffered while having a surgical procedure last week.

TV Guide reports that Foster entered a hospital in Sao Paolo, Brazil last week for a liposuction procedure and suffered a cardiac arrest while receiving an anaesthetic.

Ellen Dastry, a spokeswoman for plastic surgeon Silvio Sterman, told the Associated Press that Foster was "revived in less than a minute by heart massage".

Foster was then induced into a coma and taken to intensive care.

Dastry said this was "absolutely normal" and was done to "avoid unnecessary complications".

Foster was reportedly moved to another hospital in Sao Paolo later the same day, where she is recovering.

No other details have been disclosed.
