Pete Doherty is due to give a lecture to students in Dublin's Trinity College this evening.

The Philosophical Society invited the 29-year-old Babyshambles singer to the college.

The statement also said that the musician will give: "...a taste of what a rock 'n' roll (hopefully minus the sex and drugs) lifestyle entails."

Al Pacino, 68, and Dame Helen Mirren, 63, have previously made speeches at the university.

Doherty will be speaking in The Graduates' Memorial Building at 5pm.
