Simpson fury at sister's treatment by media

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has spoken of her disgust at media interest in her sister Jessica Simpson's weight.

E! Online reports that writing on her website, Simpson-Wentz said: "I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister's weight.

"A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman's weight or figure as a headline on Fox News."

She continued: "All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you're a celebrity, there shouldn't be a different standard.

"Is this something you would say to your wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, or even a friend? I seriously doubt it. How can we expect teenage girls to love and respect themselves in an environment where we criticize a size 2 figure? Now we can focus on the things that really matter."

Gorillaz - Plastic Beach

Rating 4

As is the nature with albums as diverse as this in style and contributors, 'Plastic Beach' can be patchy in parts, but the sheer versatility and depth of this sprawling work are its saviours.

Beautifully recorded without taking the grit out of the songs

James Vincent McMorrow - Early in the Morning

Whether warming or giving the chills, McMorrow sounds like someone to stick with for the long haul.

Once word of mouth gets around membership will swell and the Bangor lads will have to think about moving things to a much bigger venue.
