Prison Break is cancelled

It has been announced in the US that 'Prison Break' is coming to an end.

The Associated Press reports that Fox has said it is cancelling the show after four seasons; the final episodes will begin airing on American television from 17 April.

Commenting, Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly said: "It's the right move for 'Prison Break' and its fans."

He added: "We didn't give it the hook. The show just played out. I think you get to the point where creatively everyone feels enough stories were told."

Reilly said ending the series now would allow it to "finish strong".
