Idol star hospitalised after live show

'American Idol' star David Cook was hospitalised after last night's live show in the US.

According to People magazine, the singer was taken to hospital after he began to feel heart palpitations.

Cook was reportedly treated for high blood pressure before being released from the hospital.

A source told the magazine that Cook is now "doing fine".

The singer performed Dolly Patron's 'Little Sparrow' on the show but was later absent from the line-up when all the contestants returned to watch a performance by last year's winner Jordin Sparks.
