Beyoncé to play blues legend James

Singer Beyoncé Knowles is set to play blues and R&B legend Etta James in a new film.

Speaking to BlackFilm.com, actor Cedric the Entertainer said that Knowles would star in the film 'Cadillac Records'.

The film looks at the music scene in Chicago in the 1950s and the lives of, among others, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Little Walter and Elvis Presley.
 
Among the other stars of 'Cadillac Records' are Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright, Columbus Short, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Tammy Blanchard.

The film will shoot in New Jersey and Mississippi.
