Amy Winehouse cancels remaining tour dates

Amy Winehouse has cancelled all her remaining tour commitments, including a sold-out date at Dublin's RDS this Saturday.

After receiving advice from her doctor, the Brit award-winning singer cancelled the eight remaining dates on her UK and Irish tour, including a scheduled appearance at the Bournemouth International Centre last night.

A statement on the singer's official website blamed "the rigours involved in touring" and "the emotional strain that Amy has under in recent weeks" for the decision.

"In the interests of her health and well-being, Amy has been ordered to take complete rest and deal with her health issues," the statement continued.

The singer was then quoted as saying that her ability to perform has been affected by her enforced separation from Blake Fielder-Civil, her husband of six months.

Fielder-Civil is currently in custody at London's Pentonville prison, facing charges of perverting the course of justice.

She said: "I can't give it my all onstage without my Blake. I'm so sorry but I don't want to do the shows half-heartedly; I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him it's just not the same."

Earlier this week Janis Winehouse, the singer's mother, admitted she would advise her daughter to cancel tour dates if she "feared she was in danger".

Refunds for all dates will be available from the point of purchase.
