Lachey to become choirmaster on TV

Singer and reality TV star Nick Lachey is to become a choirmaster in a new TV series called 'Clash of the Choirs'.

Billboard reports that for the show Lachey and fellow celebrity choirmasters Kelly Rowland, Michael Bolton, Patti LaBelle and Blake Shelton will go back to their hometowns to form a choir of 20 amateur singers.

After rehearsals all the choirs will travel to New York for a sing-off which will air on US TV from 17 to 20 December.

The winning choir and their celebrity mentor will choose a prize that will help their community.

Lachey's hometown is Cincinnati; Rowland's is Houston; Bolton's is New Haven; LaBelle's is Philadelphia and Shelton's is Oklahoma City.
