Sutherland has new adversary in 24

Annie Wersching, a star of the US TV series 'General Hospital', has landed the major female role in the seventh series of '24'.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Wersching will play an FBI agent who has an adversarial relationship with Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland).

The new series of '24', which will be set in Washington, is currently in production in the US.

Bob Grunton, who played Secretary of State Ethan Kanin in the last series of '24', is in negotiations to return with a recurring role in the new series, playing the Chief of Staff for the new US President (Cherry Jones).
