No theft charges for Lindsay Lohan

Actress Lindsay Lohan will not be charged with theft after a woman accused her of stealing a shirt and other items of clothing from her.

The actress will not face charges because the district attorney's office has said that there is insufficient evidence that she stole someone else's clothes.

According to Fox News, Jane Robison, a spokesperson for the DA's office, confirmed that felony grand theft charges would not be filed.

A woman had claimed that the actress stole a number of items of clothing from her while she was visiting her apartment in her absence.

However, photographs of a shirt provided by the woman did not match the plaid shirt that Lohan was later seen wearing.

Deputy District Attorney Greg Somes said: "The bottom line is that Lohan can't be shown to have been seen either taking or to have been later in possession of missing items and items she can be shown to have possessed were with (the housesitter's) permission."

Lohan's representative was not available for comment on the case.
