Brenneman signs for Grey's Anatomy

'Judging Amy' star Amy Brenneman is the latest actor to be cast in the special two-hour episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' which could lead to a spin-off series from the hit medical drama.

The plot for the special episode is a closely guarded secret but it will feature Dr Addison Montgomery-Shepherd (Kate Walsh) and the possibility that she could leave Seattle Grace Hospital, a storyline that would come into effect if the episode leads to a full spin-off series.

The Hollywood Reporter says that Brenneman joins 'Chicago' star Taye Diggs, 'Prison Break' star Paul Adelstein, former 'Wings' star Tim Daly and 'Veronica Mars' star Chris Lowell in the two-hour special.
