George Szirtes
Beginning with the publication of 'The Slant Door' in 1979, Hungarian-born poet George Szirtes has written 13 collections of poetry. His 2004 collection 'Reel' won the TS Eliot Prize. Szirtes began learning English in 1956 at the age of eight when he was brought to Britain as a refugee. Much of his work echoes a sense of loss and displacement, and he joins us tonight to talk about it.

David McDermott and Peter McGough
David McDermott and Peter McGough are New York painters; David McDermott now lives in Dublin. They choose to wear the fashion and adhere to the lifestyle of 100 years ago. Their paintings generally resemble illustrations of the early part of the 20th Century with a strong gay theme. Lorraine Horgan, an Irish journalist based in London, recently met David McDermott, who had just returned from Paris where McDermott and McGough's show 'Please Don't Stop Loving Me' is on view.
