Grey's Anatomy special gets director

A director has been announced for the special, two-hour episode of 'Grey's Anatomy', which could lead to a spin-off series from the hit medical drama.

Variety reports that Michael Grossman will direct the special, which is titled 'My Favorite Mistake'.

The plot for the special episode is a closely guarded secret but it will feature Dr Addison Montgomery-Shepherd (Kate Walsh) and the possibility that she could leave Seattle Grace Hospital, a storyline that would come into effect if the episode leads to a full spin-off series.
