Roberts is to star in family drama

Julia Roberts is to star in and produce a new family drama called 'The Friday Night Knitting Club'.

Variety reports that the film is based on the upcoming novel by author Kate Jacobs and tells the story of a single parent who runs a knitting shop in Manhattan.

Her customers gather every Friday night to work on their creations, but when a tragedy strikes they realise they are closer than they thought.
