U2 have a name for new compilation

U2 have announced that the title of their upcoming compilation album will be 'U218 Singles'.

'U218 Singles' will be released on 17 November and will feature a new track, U2's charity collaboration with Green Day, 'The Saints are Coming', and "16 of the band's best-known songs".

Both the new track and 'The Saints are Coming' were recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London last month.

A limited edition of the album will also feature a bonus 10-song live CD from a 2005 concert in Milan.

U2 also plan to release a DVD companion to 'U218 Singles' at a later date which will feature the promo videos from the compilation album.

'The Saints are Coming' was originally recorded by Scottish punk band The Skids; it will be released as a digital download on 30 October and as a CD single and 7-inch on 6 November.

Proceeds from the song will go to Music Rising, an initiative co-founded by The Edge which helps musicians affected by Hurricane Katrina.
