New U2 track set for Best Of Album

It has been announced that a new, as-yet-untitled U2 song will appear on a new U2 compilation album next month.

'U2: Definitive Best Of' will be released on 17 November and will also feature U2's charity collaboration with Green Day, 'The Saints are Coming', and "16 of the band's best-known songs".

Both the new track and 'The Saints are Coming' were recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London last month.

'The Saints are Coming' was originally recorded by Scottish punk band The Skids; it will be released as a digital download on 30 October and as a CD single and 7-inch on 6 November.

Proceeds from the song will go to Music Rising, an initiative co-founded by The Edge which helps musicians affected by Hurricane Katrina.
