U2 in studio, plan Green Day collaboration

U2 are in the studio working on the follow-up to 2004's 'How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb' and will record a Hurricane Katrina benefit song with Green Day.

Billboard reports that the bands will record a cover of 'The Saints Are Coming' by Scottish punk band The Skids, proceeds from the song will go to Music Rising, an initiative co-founded by The Edge which helps musicians who lost their instruments during Hurricane Katrina.

U2 are working on their new album with legendary producer Rick Rubin.

The DVD version of the band's 1994 video 'Zoo TV - Live from Sydney' is released on 19 September.
