Pegg to star in film of bestseller

'Shaun of the Dead' and 'Spaced' star Simon Pegg is to play the lead role in the big screen adaptation of Toby Young's best-selling book 'How to Lose Friends and Alienate People'.

The book chronicled Young's tenure as a contributing editor for Vanity Fair; all names have been changed for the purposes of the film, reports Variety.

The film will be directed by 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' director Robert Weide.

Shooting is to begin in the UK and New York next spring.
