Stewart & Lancaster have baby christened

Singer Rod Stewart and his fiancée Penny Lancaster had their seven-month old son christened in a Scottish church yesterday.

The couple chose the name Alastair Wallace for the baby - Alastair because of its Scottish origins and Wallace after Lancaster's grandfather, who died following a car accident in 2003.

Stewart wore a kilt to the ceremony at South Leith Parish in Edinburgh, while Lancaster wore a long white dress and white lace gloves.

Rev Ian Gilmour, who carried out the service said: "I'm pleased to say it was a very happy occasion, The baby was Alastair and he was very happy and alert through the service and that was great."
