Soap star Campbell charged with GBH

'Emmerdale' star Cleveland Campbell has appeared in court accused of punching a man in the face.

The 28-year-old actor, who plays Danny Daggert in the soap, was charged with grievous bodily harm at Rochdale Magistrates Court and released on bail.

The charge results from an alleged incident at the Village Inn Leisure Club in Manchester on November 26 2005.

According to reports, Mr Campbell was at a party at the venue, for 'Hollyoaks' star Gemma Atkinson's 21st birthday.

A 20-year-old man reportedly suffered a broken jaw in the alleged brawl.

Mr Campbell is due to return to court on 19 June.
