Go-Betweens singer Grant McLennan dies

Grant McLennan, singer-songwriter with legendary Australian group the Go-Betweens, has died in Australia. He was 48.

McLennan died in his sleep at his home in Brisbane. It is thought that he suffered a heart attack.

With the Go-Betweens McLennan released a series of acclaimed albums in the 1980s before the band split in 1989.

He then played with the band Jack Frost and released four solo albums.

McLennan and songwriting partner Robert Forster reunited as the Go-Betweens for the 2000 album 'The Friends of Rachel Worth' and released a CD/DVD, 'That Striped Sunlight Sound', in January.

He is survived by his mother, sister, brother and girlfriend.
